Areas of Interest and Services on Offer.
My main aim is to provide children with the opportunity and the space to play and explore their own inner world. Not only children with special needs or troubled past benefit from Play Therapy, every child at one time or another might benefit from the opportunity of being allowed to express their own feelings in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
I am interested and can offer services in the following areas:
- Individual Play Therapy
- Group Play Therapy
- Filial Therapy
- Parent and child work
- Sensory Processing
- Childhood Trauma
- Play skills workshops for Parents/Carers and Childcare/Support workers
- Introduction to Play Therapy and Play Therapy Awareness training
- Play as a universal cultural value and as a teaching device
I start with an Assessment and then decide if what I can offer is the kind of intervention best suited to the child. From there with the consent of the parent/carer and the willingness of the young person we would start either time-limited or open-ended therapy. Either way there would be feedback sessions with the parent/carer towards the end of treatment or before if required.Sessions normally last between 50 minutes and an hour. If you feel strongly that your child might benefit from Play Therapy but think that you might not be able to afford it, email me or phone me and we can discuss it and reach some form of agreement.
If you are interested in training/workshops for your staff/group, please email me for more detailed information and fees.
